It's hard to let go of our selfish desires. It's hard to let go of the thoughts and dreams we spend so many days, months, years creating and building within our lives. Our hearts, they are such deceivers. Such liars apart from the only Truth, Christ. To let go to Christ is to let Christ begin His magical healing journey in your heart and in your plans, in your life and dreams. When we know Him and we proclaim to trust and have faith, we NEED to allow His spirit to live through us. When we try and take on the task of living our lives based on our heart's desires all alone on our own selfish strength, we begin the journey of inevitable hurt, failure and disappointment.
It's so funny how things we know are wrong but we want so badly can seem so right and so true. We will stop at nothing to desperately feed our desires. Just one more hit, I'll give everything to keep my foot in the door so it wont close! I'm desperate to have what I want! Because I can't let go of this idea of how great it could be if I can actually make my own dreams come true. If I just work harder....

That is an ecouraging post for all of us -- some of us more than others. But I hope that we can all allow God to direct our lives and not push our own agenda.
